Best Testimonial Collection Tools in 2026 (Compared)
Prices and plan limits were checked on each vendor's own pricing page in November 2026. Plans change often, so treat every number as "as of November 2026" and confirm on the vendor's site before you buy.

The best testimonial collection tool is the one whose free plan, pricing model and video support match how many testimonials you expect and where you will show them. For most small businesses and SaaS teams, Senja is the most complete all-rounder, Testimonial.to and VideoAsk lead on video, Trustmary and Endorsal fit businesses that need Google, Facebook or Yelp review imports, and ShowTrust is the lowest-cost way to collect unlimited written testimonials and publish them as a wall of love.
ShowTrust publishes this comparison, so its entry lists its limits as plainly as every other tool's. Below: a comparison table, a short review of nine tools, what the free plans really include, and a direct answer to how to build a testimonial collection form that customers finish.
Best testimonial collection tools at a glance
Prices are each vendor’s lowest paid plan as listed: the month-to-month price where the vendor shows one, with the annual price in brackets. All figures are as of November 2026.

| Trustmary | 5 survey responses + 200 widget views a month | $29/mo ($25/mo yearly) base plan; preset Starter bundle $462/mo ($388/mo yearly) | Yes | Auto-import from Google, Facebook, G2, Capterra, TripAdvisor, Yelp | Yes | Review aggregation for larger teams |
| Endorsal | 100 contacts, 1,000 visitors a month, no video | $39/mo ($29/mo yearly) | 10 videos on Starter | Google, Facebook, Yelp, Tripadvisor, G2, Capterra | Widgets on all plans; wall on Professional | Local businesses that ask by SMS and email |
| Trustpilot | 50 review invitations a month | $319/mo per domain, billed annually | Not a testimonial-video tool | Not applicable | TrustBox widgets | Independent, third-party reviews |
Two columns decide most shortlists: Free plan (does it cap testimonials, or meter something else?) and Video (included, capped, or a higher tier?).
What is the best tool for testimonials? Quick picks by need
There is no single winner, because the tools meter different things. Match the pick to your situation:
- You want unlimited testimonials without paying: ShowTrust’s Free plan has no testimonial cap (written testimonials; video is Pro).
- You want the most complete toolkit and have about $29 a month: Senja, which adds autosync, Zapier, an API and team seats on paid plans.
- Video is the main format: Testimonial.to Ultimate for unlimited video with a wall, or VideoAsk if you want branching video conversations and transcripts.
- Your proof already lives on Google, Facebook or Yelp: Trustmary or Endorsal, which import from those sites.
- You also want audio testimonials: Famewall.
- Buyers need reviews you don’t control: Trustpilot, or G2 and Capterra if you sell software.
Testimonial collection tools reviewed (November 2026)
Each entry lists the current price, what the free plan allows, what the tool does well and where it falls short. The full set of one-to-one comparisons is on the ShowTrust compare page.
ShowTrust
Pricing (as of November 2026): Free costs $0 with no card and includes 1 project and unlimited testimonials. Pro is $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year per project slot; each slot adds a project.
What you get: a hosted collection page at showtrust.to/your-name that customers fill in without an account, with up to 5 questions, role, company, photo and star-rating fields, a permission checkbox (don’t ask, optional or required) recorded on every testimonial, built-in text in 9 languages, and a printable QR code. Email invites send 25 a day on Free and 500 a day on Pro, with one automatic reminder. You can import an X post or App Store listing by link, a CSV, or pasted text from G2, Capterra or Trustpilot. Approved testimonials appear in an embeddable wall of love (six layouts, an async script under 8 kB), on a hosted wall page, and in optional popups and a rating badge. Slack, Discord, signed webhooks and a REST API are on every plan.
Video (Pro): customers record in the browser or upload a file, 15 seconds to 5 minutes, with no cap on the number of videos.
Limits: no transcription or captions; no live sync with review sites and no Google Business Profile connection (imports are one-off); one login per account, with no team seats or approval roles; email invites only, no SMS; no native CRM or Zapier app (webhooks work with Zapier, Make and n8n); the Free plan shows a small credit link you can switch off.
Best for: founders and small teams who want a hosted form plus a wall on their site for little or no money.
Senja
Pricing (as of November 2026): Free; Starter $29 a month ($290 a year); Pro $59 a month ($590 a year). A Business tier is listed as coming soon. Source: Senja pricing.
Free plan: 15 video and text testimonials, after which new ones stay hidden until you upgrade. It includes a collection form, invites with follow-ups, imports from 18 sites, unlimited widgets and Walls of Love, and Senja branding.
Strengths: the broadest feature set here. Starter adds unlimited testimonials, 3 forms, 2 seats, autosync from other sources, your own branding and domain, Zapier, an API and webhooks. Pro adds unlimited forms, 5 projects, 5 seats and testimonial translation.
Limits: the free cap is low for anyone collecting at volume; extra projects cost $10 a month and extra seats $5 a month on Pro. Pro advertises rich snippets for star ratings, but Google’s rules make reviews of your own business on your own site ineligible for review stars (see the FAQ).
Best for: teams that will pay $29 or more a month for one mature tool with seats and integrations. Leaving Senja? See Senja alternatives for collecting and displaying testimonials or the one-to-one ShowTrust vs Senja comparison.
Testimonial.to
Pricing (as of November 2026): Free; Starter $30 a month, or $25 a month billed annually ($300); Ultimate $60 a month per space, or $50 billed annually ($600); Ultimate+ $120 a month per space, or $95 billed annually ($1,140); Enterprise custom. Paid plans have a 7-day trial. Source: Testimonial.to pricing.
Free plan: 10 text and 2 video testimonials in total, one space, a public testimonial page, Wall of Love widgets and unlimited X and LinkedIn imports.
Strengths: strong video collection, Brand Monitor, automated email invitations (1,000 a month per space on Ultimate), an API, MCP, webhooks and Zapier/Make on Ultimate, and an AI testimonial video editor, case-study collection and NPS on Ultimate+.
Limits: Starter lifts the text cap but keeps video at 2 in total, so unlimited video means Ultimate. Pricing is per space, and video length is 2 minutes below Ultimate (5 minutes on Ultimate).
Best for: video-heavy marketing teams that can justify $50–$60 a month per space. Compare: ShowTrust vs Testimonial.to.
Shapo
Pricing (as of November 2026): Free forever; Pro $29 a month, with two months free on yearly billing and a 7-day trial for $1. Source: Shapo pricing.
Free plan: up to 15 testimonials, unlimited forms and widgets, video and image testimonials, a Wall of Love, a Review Booster page, one survey, 2 custom fields per form and Shapo branding.
Strengths: a generous feature list at one paid tier. Pro adds unlimited testimonials, imports from 30+ platforms, 500 email campaign invites a month, unlimited surveys, custom domains and branding removal.
Limits: email campaign invites and imports from 30+ platforms are listed as Pro features, and the free plan stops showing new testimonials past 15.
Best for: small businesses that want collection, surveys and widgets in one $29 plan. Head to head: Shapo vs ShowTrust for video and text testimonials.
Famewall
Pricing (as of November 2026): Free; Standard $15 a month or $149 a year; Professional $29 a month or $299 a year; Business $99 a month ($959 a year); Agency $149 a month ($1,499 a year). Source: Famewall pricing.
Free plan: 10 testimonials, one published wall, one collection page, one video and one audio testimonial.
Strengths: audio testimonials, low entry pricing, and integrations (Zapier, webhooks, Make, Slack, Discord, API) from Standard. Agency gives each client its own workspace.
Limits: Standard allows only 6 video and 6 audio testimonials with a 2-minute recording limit; unlimited video starts at Professional.
Best for: coaches, consultants and small businesses that want audio or video on a small budget.
VideoAsk
Pricing (as of November 2026): Start is free with 20 minutes of video or audio processing a month; Grow is $30 a month ($24 a month billed yearly) with 100 minutes; Brand starts at $50 a month ($40 billed yearly) with 200 minutes. Source: VideoAsk pricing.
Strengths: VideoAsk, by Typeform, runs conversational video forms. You record a question, customers answer on video, audio or text, and logic can branch. Transcription and captions, Zapier and data export are on the free plan; APIs and webhooks start at Grow.
Limits: usage is metered in minutes, including your own recordings and replies. The free plan is VideoAsk-branded and limited to 3 steps. Its plans don’t list a testimonial wall for publishing collected answers, so you’ll need somewhere else to show them.
Best for: teams that want guided video interviews more than a testimonial wall. Compare: ShowTrust vs VideoAsk.
Trustmary
Pricing (as of November 2026): the free Solo plan includes 5 survey responses and 200 widget views a month. Paid plans are a base subscription plus add-ons. In Trustmary’s plan builder, the base subscription with 10 survey responses and 5,000 widget views a month costs $29 a month ($25 billed annually). The preset Starter card is $462 a month ($388 billed annually) because it bundles 3 review connections, custom surveys, analytics, premium support and an AI-visibility profile page; the Business bundle is $778 a month ($650 billed annually). Other add-ons, such as white-label (+$19 a month billed annually) or HubSpot and Pipedrive integration (+$95), are priced separately. Source: Trustmary pricing.
Strengths: review imports, plus automatic imports through paid review connections from Google, Facebook, G2, Capterra, TripAdvisor, Yelp and other sites, review widgets including a Google review widget, and HubSpot and Pipedrive integrations (a paid add-on).
Limits: the preset bundles cost far more than the testimonial-first tools, a cheaper plan means choosing add-ons one by one, and the free plan’s 200 monthly widget views run out fast on any site with real traffic.
Best for: established businesses that want reviews from several platforms collected and shown in one place. Compare: ShowTrust vs Trustmary.
Endorsal
Pricing (as of November 2026): the Free plan covers 100 total contacts and 1,000 monthly visitors. Starter is $39 a month ($29 a month billed annually) and Professional $79 a month ($59 billed annually) at the smallest contact and visitor tier, rising as those grow. Paid plans have a 14-day trial with no card. Source: Endorsal pricing.
Strengths: automated requests by email and SMS, imports from Google, Facebook, Yelp and Tripadvisor, widgets and rating badges on every plan, and FOMO popups from Starter.
Limits: the free plan has no video; Starter allows 10 video testimonials at 480p and 2 minutes. The Wall of Love, branding removal and custom domains need Professional, and price scales with your contact list and traffic.
Best for: local and service businesses that ask by text message and already have reviews on Google or Yelp.
Trustpilot (third-party reviews)
Pricing (as of November 2026): the free plan includes 50 review invitations a month. Plus starts at $319 a month per domain and Premium at $799 a month per domain, both billed annually on a 12-month term. Source: Trustpilot plans.
Why it’s here: a testimonial tool lets you choose what to publish. Trustpilot is a public review platform: reviews live on Trustpilot’s site and you don’t decide which ones get published. That independence is the point when buyers distrust self-published quotes. For B2B software, G2 and Capterra play the same role.
Limits: it isn’t built for curated written or video testimonials, and paid plans cost far more than any testimonial tool above.
Best for: businesses whose buyers check independent review sites before they buy.
Free testimonial collection tools: what the $0 plans include

Most free plans cap the number of testimonials: 15 on Senja and Shapo, 12 on Testimonial.to (10 text plus 2 video) and 10 on Famewall. Past the cap you can usually still receive submissions, but you must upgrade to see or show them.
Three tools meter something else. Endorsal limits contacts and visitors, Trustmary limits survey responses and widget views, and VideoAsk limits minutes of video processed. ShowTrust doesn’t cap testimonials on Free, but it collects written testimonials only; video needs Pro.
If video matters on a $0 budget, Senja and Shapo include it within their 15-testimonial cap. Testimonial.to allows 2 videos and Famewall 1.
What’s the best way to create a testimonial collection form?
Use a hosted form from a testimonial tool, keep it to one mobile-friendly page, ask 3 to 5 specific questions, add a permission checkbox, and make video optional rather than required. Then send the link right after a customer succeeds, not at a random moment.

- Choose where the form lives. A general form builder works for a handful of answers, but you then copy each one onto your site by hand. A testimonial tool stores answers in a library you approve from and feeds them straight into a widget or wall.
- Ask for identity, but make little required. Name is enough to require. Role, company and photo make a quote more credible, so offer them as optional fields.
- Write 3 to 5 prompts that pull out specifics. For example: “What were you using before?”, “What changed after you started? A number helps if you have one.”, “What almost stopped you from buying?” and “Who would you recommend it to?” The free testimonial question generator drafts prompts for your product.
- Make video an option. Let people record in the browser with the questions on screen, set a time limit, and always allow written answers for those who won’t go on camera.
- Add a permission checkbox. Use plain words such as “You can use my name and words on your website and in marketing.” Keep a record of who ticked it. How to get permission to use testimonials covers the wording.
- Close with a thank-you screen. If you offer a reward, say so. The FTC’s guidance is that incentives which could affect how readers weigh an endorsement should be disclosed.
- Share it four ways: a direct link after a support win or renewal, an email invite with one reminder, a QR code at the point of sale, and a “leave a testimonial” button on your site.
Ask everyone, not only the customers you expect to be happy. The FTC’s endorsement guidance says that asking only likely-happy customers for reviews can be misleading when it skews the overall picture.
What to look for in a testimonial collection tool
Score every tool on the same five areas:
- Collection: a link customers open without an account, mobile recording, email invites with reminders, and imports of praise you already have.
- Curation: approve or reject, tags, edits for typos, a record of consent, and CSV export so you can leave.
- Display: a wall or grid, single-testimonial embeds, a hosted page, and how much the script weighs on your page.
- Integrations: Slack or email alerts, webhooks, an API and native CRM connections, if you need them.
- Pricing model: what is metered, which often matters more than the headline price.
| What gets metered | Tools (as of November 2026) |
|---|---|
| Number of testimonials on Free | Senja, Shapo, Testimonial.to, Famewall |
| Spaces or projects | Testimonial.to (per space), ShowTrust (per project slot), Senja (extra projects on Pro) |
| Minutes of video or audio | VideoAsk |
| Contacts and site visitors | Endorsal |
| Survey responses and widget views | Trustmary |
| Invitations and domains | Trustpilot |
If you expect a lot of traffic, avoid view-metered plans. If you expect many short videos, avoid minute-metered plans.
Where review platforms and bigger suites win
A testimonial tool isn’t always the right purchase:
- Independent credibility: when buyers or procurement want reviews you can’t curate, a platform like Trustpilot, G2 or Capterra carries more weight than any widget on your own site.
- Team governance: if several people must approve quotes under set roles, choose a tool with team seats (Senja from Starter, Testimonial.to from Ultimate, Famewall from Professional). ShowTrust has a single login.
- Video production: if you want edited, captioned video, Testimonial.to’s Ultimate+ video editor or VideoAsk’s transcripts go further than a simple recorder.
- CRM-driven requests: if asks must fire from CRM stages, look for native HubSpot or Pipedrive support (a Trustmary add-on) rather than webhooks alone.
How to choose: checklist and scorecard
Shortlist two or three tools from the table, then run them through these steps.
Decision checklist
- Set your proof standard: name, role, photo, rating, video, or all of these.
- Estimate volume: how many testimonials a year, and how many as video.
- Map the workflow: who asks, who approves, where each quote gets published.
- List what must connect: email, Slack, CRM, your site builder.
- Check what the free plan caps and what the paid plan meters.
- Test the customer side on a phone: open the link, record a 30-second video and submit it.
If a tool fails step 6, it will collect less, whatever its feature list says.
Scorecard
Rate each shortlisted tool from 1 to 5 and total the scores.
| Criteria | What to score | 1 | 5 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Collection | Form, invites, video, imports | Clunky, desktop-only | Fast on a phone |
| Curation | Approval, tags, consent record | Unsorted list | Structured, exportable |
| Display | Walls, embeds, page weight | One rigid widget | Flexible and light |
| Integrations | Alerts, webhooks, API, CRM | None | What your stack needs |
| Governance | Seats, roles, permissions | Single user | Roles that match your team |
| Total cost | Price at your expected volume | Rises fast | Predictable |
Weight the rows you care about. A solo founder can ignore governance, while an agency can’t.
Which testimonial collection tool should you pick?
Start from what each tool meters, not from its feature list. ShowTrust fits if you want unlimited written testimonials and a wall for little or nothing and can live without transcription, live review sync and team seats. Senja or Shapo fit a $29-a-month budget for a fuller toolkit, Testimonial.to Ultimate or VideoAsk fit video-first teams, Trustmary or Endorsal fit businesses with Google and Yelp reviews, and Trustpilot or G2 cover independent credibility.
The form then decides how much you collect: one page, 3 to 5 specific questions, a permission checkbox, and a link sent at the moment a customer is happiest. For install steps once you’ve chosen, see how to embed testimonials on your website.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the best free testimonial collection tool?
- It depends on whether you need video. ShowTrust's Free plan has no cap on written testimonials but no video. Senja and Shapo include video on Free but stop showing new testimonials after 15. Testimonial.to allows 10 text and 2 video testimonials, and Famewall allows 10. Prices and limits are as of November 2026.
- Can I collect video testimonials for free?
- Yes, within limits. As of November 2026, Senja and Shapo include video within their 15-testimonial free caps, Testimonial.to allows 2 videos, Famewall allows 1, and VideoAsk gives 20 minutes of video or audio processing a month. ShowTrust's video recording is on Pro at $4.99 a month per project slot.
- Do testimonial widgets give my website Google review stars?
- Usually not. Google's review snippet guidelines say that when a business controls the reviews about itself, its pages using LocalBusiness or Organization markup are ineligible for review stars, including reviews shown through an embedded third-party widget. Check this before paying for a rich-snippet feature.
- Can I use Google Forms to collect testimonials?
- Yes, for a handful. Add a permission checkbox and keep it to a few questions. The catch comes after collection: you copy each answer onto your site by hand, there is no video recording, and nothing displays the testimonials for you. A testimonial tool handles approval and display.
- How do I ask customers for a testimonial?
- Ask right after a clear win, such as a resolved support ticket, a renewal or a milestone. Send a short personal email with a direct link to the form, mention one specific thing they achieved, and send one reminder a few days later. Ask all recent customers, not only the ones you expect to be happy.
- Can I import reviews I already have?
- Most tools can. Senja, Trustmary and Endorsal import from sites such as Google or Facebook, and both can keep importing new reviews automatically on paid plans (Senja's autosync, Trustmary's review connections). Others, including ShowTrust, import once from a link, a CSV or pasted text, with no live sync.
Want a hosted testimonial form and a wall of love without a monthly bill? ShowTrust’s Free plan collects unlimited written testimonials; video, white-label and more email invites are on Pro at $4.99 a month per project slot. Compare ShowTrust plans.
