As of November 2026, Shapo is the cheaper of the two: its Free plan includes video testimonials (15 testimonials in total), and Pro costs $29/month with unlimited testimonials and imports from 30+ review sites that sync every 24 hours. Testimonial.to costs more once video matters: unlimited video starts on Ultimate at $60/month per space, but that plan adds automatic captions, a native Zapier app, webhooks and team seats. Pick Shapo for a budget wall of text, video and imported reviews. Pick Testimonial.to if video is your main format and you want captions, longer clips and automation.

Pricing and free plans compared

Bar chart of yearly list prices as of November 2026: Shapo Free $0, Testimonial.to Free $0, Shapo Pro $290, Testimonial.to Starter $300, Ultimate $600 per space, Ultimate+ $1,140 per space

Testimonial.to plans

As of November 2026, Testimonial.to has four self-serve plans plus Enterprise. Its billing toggle says “2 months off” for yearly billing.

  • Free ($0): 10 text and 2 video testimonials in total, 1 space with 1 collection form, 2-minute videos, unlimited X and LinkedIn imports, a public Wall of Love page and embed widgets. Free plans always show “Made with Testimonial” branding.
  • Starter ($30/month, or $300/year): unlimited text testimonials, still 2 videos in total, imports from social media and review sites, and a custom domain.
  • Ultimate ($60/month or $600/year per space): unlimited video, 5-minute videos, unlimited forms, video auto-transcription, 1,000 automated email invitations a month per space, Google rich snippets, REST API, MCP, webhooks, Zapier and Make, eGift card rewards, and team seats. Each extra space costs another $60 a month or $600 a year.
  • Ultimate+ ($120/month or $1,140/year per space): adds case study collection, NPS surveys with auto-routing, an AI testimonial video editor, unlimited team members and SOC 2 Type II compliance.

On branding, the sources don’t fully agree. The help center says removing the branding works on paid plans, and the Starter card lists “White-label widgets”. The comparison table on the same pricing page, though, only ticks “Remove Testimonial branding” from Ultimate. If that’s your reason for buying Starter, ask support first.

When the free allowance runs out, customers can still submit, but anything past 10 text or 2 video testimonials stays locked in your inbox until you upgrade.

Shapo plans

Shapo has two plans as of November 2026:

  • Free ($0, no card): up to 15 testimonials, collected or imported; unlimited forms and widgets; video and image testimonials; a Wall of Love page; 20 tags; 2 custom fields per form; one AI, NPS or feedback survey; and Shapo branding.
  • Pro ($29/month, or $290/year): unlimited testimonials, imports from 30+ platforms, 500 email campaign invites a month, 100 tags, 10 custom fields per form, unlimited surveys with AI insights, a custom domain and no branding. A 7-day trial costs $1 and then renews at $29/month.

The Free cap counts everything. According to Shapo’s pricing FAQ, once you reach 15, “incoming testimonials will not be visible” and imports from third-party sources are restricted. For agencies, Shapo says one workspace can hold a few brands or clients. Separate workspaces have separate billing.

What you’d pay per year

Annual billing at list prices, as of November 2026:

Your situation Testimonial.to Shapo
Up to 10 text and 2 video testimonials $0 (Free) $0 (Free)
More than 15 written testimonials, no video $300 (Starter) $290 (Pro)
Unlimited video for one brand $600 (Ultimate) $290 (Pro)
Captions on your videos $600 (Ultimate) Not offered on Shapo’s public pages
Two brands or clients with video $1,200 (Ultimate + one extra space) $290 if both fit in one workspace
Five people with their own logins $600 (Ultimate) $290 (roles available; seat limits not published)

For written testimonials alone, the two cost about the same. The gap opens with video: unlimited video costs about twice as much on Testimonial.to, and more again for each extra brand.

Collecting testimonials: forms, video and imports

Both tools give you a shareable collection page where customers type or record a testimonial without creating an account. They differ in plan limits, in video features and in how they bring in reviews you already have.

Forms and requests

Testimonial.to

  • Free and Starter get 1 collection form per space; Ultimate and up get unlimited forms.
  • The form collects name, headshot, email, title, company and a social link, plus up to 5 custom fields.
  • A consent statement is required by default and can be made optional or hidden. Each form submission stores its own consent record: the exact wording, the language and the time.
  • The collection page can run in English or 14 other languages. Auto-translate is on Ultimate and up.
  • Ultimate adds the Testimonial Email Assistant: BCC it on emails you already send, such as order confirmations, and it follows up later with a testimonial request (1,000 a month per space). It also adds eGift card rewards.

Shapo

  • Unlimited forms on every plan. Name and email are required by default, and you can switch on fields like website or phone, plus custom fields (2 per form on Free, 10 on Pro).
  • Customers can attach images, and a conditional thank-you page lets you change the ending.
  • Email campaigns are Pro only: upload a CSV, personalize with {{name}}, and send up to 500 a month. Shapo notes that a campaign can’t be stopped once launched.
  • A Review Booster page sends customers to review you on the platforms you choose.
  • Shapo’s help center doesn’t document a consent checkbox. If you need a permission record, put the permission wording in the form itself. For the wider process, see these steps for getting permission to use testimonials.

Video testimonials

Testimonial.to is built around video, but the cheap plans ration it:

  • Free and Starter allow 2 video testimonials in total, each up to 2 minutes. Ultimate and Ultimate+ are unlimited, at up to 5 minutes each.
  • Videos are auto-transcribed in the speaker’s language, and you can edit the captions. Viewers can turn them on or off on your Wall of Love. The pricing table lists auto-transcription on Ultimate and Ultimate+.
  • Ultimate+ adds an AI video editor. You can download any collected video as an MP4 on every plan, even after a downgrade.

Shapo includes video on every plan:

  • Turn on “Accept Video Testimonials” in the form, and customers record on a phone or desktop (Shapo’s video guide). Videos are moderated in the dashboard and can be shown in any widget.
  • On Free, videos count toward the 15-testimonial cap.
  • You can upload videos you already have, for example from YouTube, Loom or Vimeo, and download collected videos.
  • As of November 2026, Shapo’s public pages don’t publish a maximum video length or file size, and don’t mention captions or transcription.

If captions matter (many viewers watch with the sound off), Testimonial.to is the only one of the two that documents them.

Importing reviews you already have

Shapo lists 30+ import sources, including Google, Facebook, Yelp, Tripadvisor, Trustpilot, G2, Capterra, LinkedIn, X, Reddit, Product Hunt, both app stores, Etsy, Zillow, WooCommerce, and Shopify review apps such as Judge.me, Loox, Okendo and Yotpo. With auto-sync, Shapo checks a source every 24 hours and adds new reviews, which are public by default. On Free, imports count toward the 15-testimonial cap.

Testimonial.to imports X and LinkedIn posts on every plan, and social and review sites from Starter. Its help center has import guides for Google, Trustpilot, G2, Capterra, Judge.me, Yelp, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Vimeo, the app stores, Amazon, AppSumo and Product Hunt, plus a browser extension for anything else. The help center describes imports as search, select and add. It doesn’t describe a scheduled sync, so plan to repeat imports by hand. CSV bulk import needs Ultimate or Ultimate+.

If you want Google or Shopify reviews to keep flowing onto your site without manual work, Shapo’s auto-sync is the deciding feature.

Moving testimonials between Testimonial.to and Shapo

Neither tool has a one-click migration from the other. As of November 2026:

  • Testimonial.to to Shapo. Testimonial.to exports a CSV of a space, including consent columns. Shapo’s help center doesn’t document a CSV import, so you have two routes. Either re-import from the original sources with Shapo’s importers, or add testimonials through Shapo’s API, which accepts 30 testimonials an hour. Download your videos as MP4 files from Testimonial.to and upload them to Shapo as video testimonials.
  • Shapo to Testimonial.to. Shapo doesn’t document a CSV export. Its GET testimonials API returns name, title, company, rating, source and text (rate-limited to 60 calls an hour). Save the results as a CSV in Testimonial.to’s template and use Bulk Import, which needs Ultimate or Ultimate+. Otherwise, re-import from the original review sites.

Either way, export before you cancel. Consent records collected in one tool don’t carry over as consent records in the other.

Displaying testimonials: widgets, wall and branding

Testimonial.to offers embed widgets for a masonry Wall of Love (fixed or scrolling), a slider, a single video, a single review, a review-count badge, a globe map (Starter and up), an inline collection form, collect buttons that open the form in a pop-up, and an NPS survey. Every plan gets a public Wall of Love page, and Starter adds a custom domain. On Free and Starter, the Wall of Love shows only 2 videos. A star rating snippet for the wall is listed for Ultimate and Ultimate+.

Shapo lists eight widget types: grid, single review, carousel, multi-carousel, marquee, review list, floating review toast and review badge. It also offers a Wall of Love page (custom domain on Pro), a “Load more” button, and total-review and average-rating counts. Shapo can also generate Google review schema code for a page.

Both tools paste in as an HTML snippet in WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Framer and similar builders.

On review stars, Google’s review snippet guidelines treat reviews a business collects about itself as self-serving. Google won’t show stars for them on LocalBusiness or Organization pages, whichever tool adds the markup.

Check page speed before you commit

Any testimonial widget is a third-party script on your money pages. Run the same test in each free plan:

  1. Add the widget to a copy of your landing page and compare load times in Lighthouse or WebPageTest, with and without it.
  2. Check that a video wall doesn’t download videos before anyone presses play.
  3. Place the widget below the fold if it’s heavy, and check that the layout doesn’t shift as it loads.
  4. Check how it looks on a phone, where most visitors will see it.

For placement and embed basics, see this guide to embedding testimonials on your website.

Integrations, API and team access

Testimonial.to (as of November 2026)

  • API and automation on Ultimate and up: REST API, an MCP connector for AI assistants, and webhooks for create, like, unlike and delete events (signed with HMAC-SHA1). There’s a native Zapier app with a “new testimonial” trigger and two actions, plus Make.
  • Other connections: a Slack app that turns Slack messages into testimonials, and a HubSpot connection that writes testimonial fields to your HubSpot contacts. Its integrations page lists 100+ platforms, mostly embed and import guides.
  • Team: one seat on Free and Starter. Ultimate includes 5 account members plus 3 per space; Ultimate+ is unlimited. Extra seats cost $10 a month (staff or admin) or $5 a month (space).

Shapo (as of November 2026)

  • API on every plan: read testimonials (60 calls an hour) and add them (30 an hour). Importing reviews through the API needs Pro.
  • Form webhooks on Pro: a form.submitted event you can route to Zapier, Make or similar tools (webhook guide). Shapo has no native Zapier app.
  • Team: workspace members with Owner, Admin, Editor and Viewer roles. The pricing page doesn’t state a seat limit.

If your testimonial flow needs to talk to a CRM, Zapier or AI agents, Testimonial.to has more built in. Shapo’s API is available on the free plan, and its Pro webhook can feed the same tools through a generic catch-hook step.

Choose Testimonial.to if video testimonials are central to your marketing and you’ll use what the higher price buys: captions, longer clips, video editing, team seats and built-in automation.

A cheaper alternative to both: ShowTrust

If you mainly collect testimonials yourself and need neither review sync nor captions, ShowTrust costs less than both. Its Free plan gives one project with unlimited written testimonials, an embeddable Wall of Love and a small credit link you can switch off. Pro is $4.99/month or $49.99/year per project slot. It adds browser-recorded or uploaded video (15 seconds to 5 minutes), white-label walls and more email invites.

Know its limits before switching:

  • No transcription or captions.
  • No live review sync and no direct Google, Facebook or Yelp connection. Imports are X post links, App Store links, CSV or pasted text.
  • One login per account, with no team seats or roles.
  • No review schema, and no native Zapier app (signed webhooks instead).

For details, see the ShowTrust vs Testimonial.to comparison and how Shapo compares with ShowTrust.

The short answer

Shapo is the budget choice. It includes video on its free plan (15 testimonials in total) and offers unlimited testimonials, 30+ review imports with daily auto-sync and every widget for $29/month. Testimonial.to costs about the same for written testimonials but roughly twice as much for unlimited video ($60/month per space). In return you get captions, 5-minute clips, team seats, a Zapier app, webhooks and an AI video editor on its top plan. Decide which features you’ll actually use, then test both free plans on a real page before you pay.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Shapo free?
Yes. As of November 2026, Shapo's Free plan is free forever with no card, and it includes video testimonials, unlimited forms and unlimited widgets. It is capped at 15 testimonials in total, collected or imported, and shows Shapo branding. Past the cap, new testimonials are not visible until you upgrade to Pro at $29/month or $290/year.
Does Testimonial.to have a free plan?
Yes. As of November 2026, Testimonial.to Free allows 10 text and 2 video testimonials in total, 1 space, 1 collection form, 2-minute videos, unlimited X and LinkedIn imports and a public Wall of Love, with Testimonial branding. Customers can keep submitting past the limit, but extra testimonials stay locked until you upgrade. Starter costs $30/month or $300/year.
Can you move testimonials from Testimonial.to to Shapo?
Partly. Testimonial.to exports a CSV of each space, but Shapo's help center does not document a CSV import. You can re-import reviews from the original sites with Shapo's importers, add testimonials through Shapo's API at 30 per hour, and upload downloaded MP4 videos to Shapo. Consent records do not carry over.
Which supports video testimonials better?
Testimonial.to has more video features: up to 5-minute clips, automatic captions and video analytics on Ultimate ($60/month per space), and an AI video editor on Ultimate+. Shapo is cheaper for video: every plan, including Free, accepts video, and Pro is $29/month, but it does not publish length limits or mention captions.
Do Testimonial.to or Shapo add Google review stars?
Both can add review markup: Testimonial.to lists Google rich snippets on Ultimate, and Shapo generates review schema code. Google decides whether to show stars, and its guidelines treat reviews a business collects about itself as self-serving, so LocalBusiness and Organization pages do not get stars for them.
